1. Mr. Katsu

( 3165 Yorba Linda Blvd, Fullerton, CA 92831)

This small restaurant tucked away in a tiny, easily overlooked shopping strip off of Yorba Linda Blvd. serves a delectable treasure: Tonkatsu (a Japanese style breaded pork cutlet) sandwiches. One might think that the classic Japanese comfort food couldn’t get better. However, Mr. Katsu has, against all odds, managed to take a Japanese staple and upgrade it, by placing it between two hardy slices of bread (and as we all know, extra carbs make everything better). Additionally, if you are a lover of curry like myself, Mr. Katsu specializes in a Katsu Curry sandwich, that upon eating will cause you to close your eyes and remember all the good in the world (perhaps even conjuring a tear or two). Moreover, the sandwiches are massive and, most importantly, fairly cheap!

2. Noodle St.

( 2323 E Chapman Ave Ste B, Fullerton, CA 92831)

Calling all noodle lovers! Although a little pricier, the handmade noodles made to order at Noodle St. are definitely worth it. Not only, can you try an array of noodle dishes from across Southeast Asia, including Chinese stir fry noodles and Korean jajangmyeon (black bean noodles), you can also customize your order by choosing from a variety of different noodle cuts (round, flat, triangle, and knife cut). In addition to noodles, Noodle St. also offers an assortment of equally delicious non-noodle dishes like juicy pork dumplings and potato wrapped shrimp! The best part of Noodle St., though, is watching the chefs masterfully stretch and transform a block of dough into hundreds of noodles right before your eyes. Nothing beats a delicious dinner and a show!

The star of J’s Korean Cuisine, however, is the wide range of Korean fusion food.
